In the Day Center of Zeuxis migrant and refugee children participate in workshops under the guidance of a multi-disciplinary team of staff. They learn by experience to identify and articulate their emotions, as well as to take care of themselves physically and emotionally.
Zeuxis would like to thank warmly Kimon Frangakis, Ladies Run, the first Greek site exclusively for women runners, which has also turned into a charity institution, as well as the team of Δεσμός - Desmos, lead by Christos Paikopoulos for their kind donation of two air-conditioners and a dishwasher to the shelter for unaccompanied minor girls of Zeuxis OIKOS. Also, we would like to thank the site Andro for presenting our work!

Project “MERIMNA” - Safeguarding children at Greek border points
In recent years Greece has faced increased migratory flows both at its land and sea borders. Amongst the most vulnerable populations are Unaccompanied Migrant Children (UMCs), as they are alone, without members of their family, thus exposed to numerous dangers and risks. They tend to develop a range of emotional, developmental, and behavioral problems, such as depression, anxiety, psychotraumatic stress, substance use, suicidal acts, and delinquent behavior and at the same time, there is a direct link between childhood trauma and chronic diseases that people develop as adults, as well as social and psychological problems.
